At Bollywood Society, culture is at the heart of everything we do. Our cultural events bring students together to celebrate the rich traditions, colours, and spirit of South Asian heritage while creating an inclusive environment for everyone to experience and enjoy.
From vibrant Holi festivals filled with music and colour, to elegant Diwali celebrations showcasing lights, performances, and cultural pride, our events provide a unique opportunity for students to connect with their roots and learn about diverse traditions.
We also host Sangeet Nights and cultural showcases that blend music, dance, fashion, and entertainment, creating unforgettable experiences that celebrate community and togetherness.

Royal Affair Ball
The Signature Event of Bollywood Society
Royal Affair is more than just a ball — it's the pinnacle of the Bollywood Society experience. Bringing together hundreds of students for an unforgettable evening of elegance, entertainment, and connection, the event captures what university life is all about.
Three-course dining experience, live food stations, live music, stunning performances, and one of the biggest dance floors of the year. Whether you're catching up with friends, meeting new people, or dancing the night away, Royal Affair delivers the true campus life experience in a sophisticated and vibrant setting.

Where Ideas Take Shape
Mehfil-E-Sangeet (2024)
A night that became part of La Trobe folklore. Mehfil-E-Sangeet brought together Bollywood Society as the groom's side and the La Trobe Pakistani Association as the bride's side for Melbourne's first large-scale university mock wedding and sangeet celebration. Featuring cultural performances, music, dance, traditions, and an electric atmosphere, the event united hundreds of students across communities in a way never seen before. The overwhelming success of the night sparked a trend across Melbourne, with multiple universities announcing their own mock wedding events within weeks. To this day, Mehfil-E-Sangeet remains one of the most iconic and talked-about student events ever hosted at La Trobe University.
Annual Holi Festival
Every year, Bollywood Society transforms the Bundoora Campus into a vibrant celebration of colour, culture, and community through its Annual Holi Festival. As one of the university's largest free cultural events, students from all backgrounds come together to celebrate the Festival of Colours with music, dance, food, entertainment, and thousands of vibrant colour throws. More than just an event, Holi represents unity, diversity, and the spirit of student life, creating unforgettable memories and bringing the entire campus community together in a celebration unlike any other.
